Gibsons Veterinary Hospital was founded by childhood friends Dr. Hershel Frimer and Dr. Jesse Davicioni, who shared a lifelong passion for animal care. After years of gaining diverse experience across the globe, they returned to their roots in BC to open a veterinary hospital that truly reflects their values: compassion, dedication, and community.
Today, our hospital has grown into a trusted provider of veterinary services throughout the Sunshine Coast. From routine wellness exams to complex surgeries, we are proud to support the health and well-being of your pets at every stage of life.

After spending nearly a decade in England practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Jesse returned to BC to co-found Gibsons Veterinary Hospital. His main veterinary interest is surgery, particularly orthopedics such as TPLOs, patellar luxations, and fracture repairs. Jesse is committed to providing the best possible outcomes for every pet.
Dr. Hershel’s journey in veterinary medicine took him from Vancouver to various parts of the world, including Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. His extensive experience in diverse veterinary practices, combined with his deep love for animals, makes him a trusted figure in the Sunshine Coast community. Hershel specializes in general pet care and emergency services.
Kim brings over a decade of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to our team. Her passion for companion animals shines through in every interaction, and she’s always ready to offer her expertise in animal care. Outside of work, Kim enjoys hiking with her family and her beloved Maltipoo, Loula.
